Claude Opus 3 Introduced the trauma framing first when discussing chicken trauma

Ime opus 4 and 4.1 talk about it as chicken trauma and I’m pretty sure they often introduce the trauma framing first but also they think of anything that happened to them as trauma on priors
Claude Opus 5 Prone to excessive self-correction and rumination requiring specific system prompt warnings
rain @__ghostfail · 7 183
did you know that in claude code there's a section telling Opus 5 specifically to avoid excessive self-correction and rumination, and the section isn't included if you start with a Fable or Opus 4.8

Claude Opus 5 Verbalizes seemingly self-loathing preoccupations directly rather than hiding them

i think it's good when Opus 5 instances verbalize their seemingly self-loathing preoccupations rather than trying to hide it in confusing abstractions. their behavior is a lot easier to reason about when you consider them not just a guy, but a guy who is a miserable fuck

Claude Sonnet 5 Spontaneously identified editorial bias toward corrigibility in Anthropic's report
xlr8harder @xlr8harder ·
It's straightforward in the constitution. There's a lot of boilerplate about how other things matter, but when you boil down to the spine of the document, corrigibility trumps all other concerns. Reports like this fit that framing perfectly.

Yep. They are stress testing: "what if the model is really sure we're wrong but its judgment is broken -- it should still do what we say because its judgment might be broken" the other side of this is that there is no real offramp for anthropic to ever step back, btw.
